Last February, Tammy Duckworth said that she’d forego any Super PAC money saying that such money has a “corrosive effect” on politics.
Back then, during the Democrat primary, Duckworth challenged her rival, Raj Krishnamoorthi, to eschew PAC money because of its evil influences, but now that her new campaign for the general election is under way — and only days old at this point — Duckworth is already revisiting that idea and seems open to using all the Super PAC cash she can get.
The Daily Herald asked her the question in a recent interview, noting that a Super PAC intends to flood the new 8th District with ads attacking GOP opponent Joe Walsh. Will she insist on a PAC free general, the paper asked?
We’re going to take a look at that and see. We haven’t made up our minds yet. Part of this is looking at how the Super PAC Challenge is going in Massachusetts, as well.
What this means, of course, is that she only thinks PAC money is bad when it is Democrat on Democrat spending. But now that she is facing a Republican, why PAC money is juuuuust fine with her.
What a hypocrite.
