From the Illinois Center Right Coalition
Hoffman Estates, Illinois, August 16, 2012 – The Illinois Center Right Coalition (ICRC) is pleased to announce the passage of the following resolution related to 2013 elections:
Whereas, in April 2013, the majority of Illinois voters will be able to vote in elections for township offices, mayor, city council, school board, library board, and/or park district board;
Whereas, all of those governments may charge property taxes, sales taxes, and/or both;
Whereas, many local elected officials run for higher offices;
Whereas, the Illinois Center-Right Coalition, is a broad alliance of organizations and individuals dedicated to the principles of individual freedom, personal responsibility, limited government, the rule of law, free markets, and the centrality of faith and family in American life.
So therefore, be it resolved that the ICRC steering committee will strive to recruit as many conservative candidates (including fiscal and social conservatives) as possible for as many offices as possible.
“If we watch who we elect at the local level we can help ensure that we are protecting our rights as Americans including the right to free speech. Recently, a Chicago Alderman and Mayor of Chicago vowed to block Chick-Fil-A simply because they disagreed with the company’s President Dan Cathy’s statement on support of traditional marriage,” Illinois Center Right Coalition Chairman Frank Napolitano said. “We need to find more people like Lombard Trustee Peter Breen, who helped support the National Chick Fil A Appreciation day at the location in Lombard.”
