From the office of Rep. Peter Roskam (R, Illinois 6th District)…
WASHINGTON – Congressman Peter Roskam (IL-06) released the latest installment of Ask Peter today, a frequent video conversation with Sixth District residents about issues important to them. In this segment, Congressman Roskam responds to Debbie Renzi of Carol Stream who is concerned about wasteful spending and the rising national debt.
On the heels of the United States surpassing $16 trillion in debt, Roskam asks viewers how the national debt will impact their families and their households. Constituents can send a message on Twitter using #16trillionreasons or email a photo of what they worry will be affected by the national debt to firstname.lastname@example.org.
“I want to ask you a question this time: how does $16 trillion in debt impact your family and your household? You can tweet out to #16trillionreasons, you can send me an email at email@example.com, but I need to hear from you–and give me specifics if you can. Are you concerned about the ability to save in the future, are you concerned about your children going to college or your retirement?”
Ask Peter videos will be available to the public at Roskam.house.gov, facebook.com/reproskam, twitter.com/peterroskam, and via press release. The videos will also be sent to the constituents via e-mail, Facebook, or Twitter, depending on how they contacted the Roskam office.
