From the campaign of John Bambenek for State Senate (52nd District)…

CHAMPAIGN, IL (October 17, 2012) — The Chicago Tribune yesterday endorsed John Bambenek, the Republican Candidate for the 52nd District. The Tribune cited Mr. Bambenek’s commitment to fiscal responsibility, government accountability and transparency, as well as the need to change the way Illinois state government does business.

The Chicago Tribune did not endorse Democratic incumbent State Senator Mike Frerichs due to his support for the 67% state income tax hike, as well as not voting for the spending cuts necessary to resolve the state’s fiscal crisis. Despite their past support of Sen. Frerichs, they find that he is one reason why the state is in such poor financial shape, since failed to take on the tough votes.

The endorsement comes with less than three weeks before the general election in November.

John Bambenek Is a candidate for the Illinois State Senate of the 52nd District.
