Illinois State Senator Donne Trotter, a Chicago Democrat, was arrested at O’Hare airport for having a gun in his baggage. Today he faced the judge in his case after spending the night in lock-up. He claimed he forgot the gun in his luggage and that it is from his “job” as a security guard. But this is a flat out lie. He has no such job.
Donne Trotter claimed that he is a “security guard” for a company called Allpoints (also called All Points Security). This is why he needed the .25 caliber pistol, said the lawmaker. But does he have such a job?
First of all, Trotter was in Springfield in session all day long. Are we to believe he was in the State Senate chambers all day then ran off to Chicago to be a “security guard,” then ran to O’Hare to catch a flight to Washington D.C.? The timeline is rather suspect, wouldn’t you think?
Then, Donne Trotter does not once mention this “job” in his financial disclosure. How can you have such a job without mentioning it as part of your annual income stream?
Now, if you go to the Illinois State Board of Elections contribution search webpage and put “allpoints” in the last name search feild, you’ll find that this company donates exclusively to Democrats. (A similar search spelling it “All Points” also shows Democrat contributions)
Of course, it is a typically amusing Chicago hypocrisy we see at work here, too. Trotter, you see, is a big gun grabber, a virulent hater of the U.S. Constitution. He is one of the important co-sponsors of Democrat Governor Pat Quinn’s newest gun grabbing legislation… yet here Trotter is with a gun concealed in his luggage.
So, he’s another one of those creeps that want to take guns from you and me, but thinks he is smarter than the rest of us and deserves to have a gun when we shouldn’t be allowed to.
But let me tell you what this “security guard” job claim really is. It is simply a lie. Trotter is not now and has never been a “security guard.” What we are seeing is that All Points Security gave trotter a fake job so that the lawmaker could legally carry a gun in a state where he’s trying to make sure no one else is allowed to do the same.
This is a sham “job,” a political favor, arranged solely so that hypocrite Trotter can have a gun as he attempts to deny the rest of us the same legal right to carry.
It is no less than that.
**UDPATE**
A commentor below alerted me to a mistake I made above. I read a story right when Trotter was arrested and it said — or I thought it said — that Trotter was in Springfield on Dec. 5, the day he was arrested. I’ve looked into it further and he was not in Springfield on Wednesday, Dec. 5. He was there on Tuesday the 4th, the day before. (Here is a Trib story that notes where he was)
Weather he has a legit job with the security company or he may know someone there that contributed to his campaign, according to the department of financial and professional regulations he does have active licenses. Although he will lose them now with the felony charge looming over him now.

Um. security guards can only carry weapons on duty and to and from work with a one hour window. You should learn the law before you spout things. Other than that, Trotter should be sentenced to the highest allowed by law. All politicians who commit crimes should get the max.
Are you really so naive that you don’t “get” that his intent was to always carry his gun all the time and always say he “just coming from work” so that he can skirt the law??? Are you really so silly as to imagine that ANY Democrat has any intention of following laws??

You are right on target. This is a scam many folks in the city do to skirt the gun laws of the state.
Take a sham 20 hour private detective class, get a PERC card and a FOID card and find some firm to say you work for them and you are all set.
Hopefully this will blow the cover off of this racket and have the powers that be take a closer look at this end-around the gun laws of the state.
Does anyone think a high class, hi-faluting snazzy dresser and attorney like Donne is actually checking doorknobs at a warehouse or sitting in booth checking for cars entering a parking lot for $8.50 per hour ?
And the part about his disclosures will also come back to haunt him, as well as the fact that the gun it turns out was not properly registered in the City of Chicago.
Finally, the little girl gun he was packing, a .25 caliber, is hardly used by anyone that takes the job of security guard seriously.
I will bet there are a lot of folks sleeping uneasy tonight.
Were they is session? The website says they’re off until after the first of the year.
